Music: The Aurasonora - Everlasting Blue
In 2000 Patrizia Biscu (vox) and me (guitar, programming and arranging), helped by Claudio Rosari (bass), Massimo Rosari (drums) and Dennis Prezioso (scratches), formed The Aurasonora. We wanted integrate soul vocals with electronic music and R&B guitar sounds in order to create a fusion of melodies in an imaginary and psychedelic atmosphere.
All the photos in this page were made by Giuseppe Lami.
The road leading from Massive Attack’s Safe from harm to Morcheeba’s The sea had been traveled by other European groups such as Air, Cardigans, Hooverphonic and Pepe Deluxe. Apparently, the islands of soul and psychedelia weren't so frequently visited. This was exactly where Aurasonora wishes to transport its listeners.
In some months (up to august 2000) we produce Everlasting Blue, a promo CD with 9 tracks.
1. Everlasting Blue
My world is blue, everlasting. My world is blue.
My mother said: Don't be afraid. You've trusted the man 'n' the man trusts you. By making good actions, as Jesus said, gave me a lot of tears, but didn't make me more wise. When I cried: Do I believe? You looked at me and saw your past. I can't be happy followin' teachings. No one can live another's life on this old earth. |
Now will you be with me? Now will you set me free? Let me feel love tonight, let me be wrong, and live.
And someone said: Don't be afraid. You've trusted the man 'n' the man trusts you. By living a good life (it was) not as I dreamt. No one can live another's life on this old earth. Please, will you be with me? Please will you set me free? Let me feel love tonight, let me be wrong and live. |
2. Globalethical
Links and connectivity, properties and rights,
fast growing economy: homeless, drugs and city lights. Theological positions, ethical beliefs: ways to stay away from the world that now exists. Political decisions, "change your life for free!" Everything is in an Ad: a movie hero is all you need. |
Play well in their strategy, pros and cons of a single move,
music is the message: existence flows into this groove. Now that shares are rising and someone else is starving, money can be a weapon: so the poor shoot the poor in fighting. And time can be the same: seconds, for an order to sell. Try not to be traced, so that no one can live and tell. |
3. Offshore
Staring at sunset on the sea: nice, isn't it? Keeping your business away from home: you know it works.
Life is so easy, fine and cheap, far from the troubles, safe and warm. When you can’t keep profits low (the way you know…), States, Europe and Japan ask to you to pay the fee. A way is to take your money offshore. Why don't you try? It doesn't break the law! Only someone gets rich. No contribution to the system, no contribution for the town. No contribution, no contribution! But you, like the others on that shore (more or less), want to earn money and save the buck, the best you can. A way is to take your money offshore. Why don't you try? So come on! |
Why don't you go offshore? Taking your money offshore?
Enjoy this welfare system you’re not paying for! Once upon a time there were industries: money for someone, death for someone else, but companies paid their duties and town grew up. Now a lot of corporations stay here for the system, make business, make lobbies and overall sales. But take money in places where they don't have to pay duties. And if you find this thing is not interesting for you, think: more than a half of corporations in the world moved or are moving their profits off-shore. Now ask to yourself who stay here to pay schools, hospitals, aid for older people, firechiefs... |
4. Live2Learn
Some faces smile on screen, some face reality,
a lot know how hard it is to live and pay to sit and dream. They long to be free, wonderful life to live, some wisdom to learn how to live happily. Rebates from TV ads, rebellions in the world. Something never gives up, so mankind keeps it’s hopes. They long to be free, wonderful life to live, some wisdom to learn how to live happily. |
But there's just one thing to do, don't wait: live to learn.
You shouldn't ask to be free, just think with your mind. Some souls are melting down, they are crying down the street. Their bodies are picked up early, before people go to work. They long to be free, a wonderful life to live, some wisdom to learn how to live happily. If you want to live this life, don't let others do it for you. No one can give you your dream, just start reachin' them. |
5. Covered Sun
When the sun’s covered 'n' I think there's nothing inside of myself.
Godless oblivion, take me away by some random events lived in my life without knowing where I have to go. But this isn't true: the sun is inside of you. Look for it deep inside: you can find it. Please make it shine, don't waste its light. My soul was bleeding, wrecked in this deep and light blue cold sea. |
No tracks behind no line between: black sky and black water
'cause you can't imagine what's down here between these fallen angels. People believe it: when that's getting lost, you can still be saved. People just need it: if you don't believe, you act as if you are doomed and the worst will come true in this way suddenly. The Sun is inside of you, inside of you. It's trying to come up, make it dawn upon yourself, let the light come in. |
6. Immigrants (as my people used to be)
Moon shine and spot our shadows, we are in queue now to have a chance.
Life caught our lives in the middle: "we're going to go out, get steady now." So we will leave with no name, with no flag with no story behind us. So we will keep memories of all of this with no language to tell it. You're in your civilized western country and look at TV: what a comfort way. You're in your civilized western country and look at TV: better than here. I think of my children and wife, it's called "family": human concept, you see. I'll work as engineer or a waiter, it doesn't matter, (wanna) just earn my bucks. They're in my old and bittersweet dusty country looking at TV: a comfort way. They're in my old and bittersweet dusty country, waiting for money I'll take when I'm back. |
Earth like a desert, war and mad season, makes me just move during this night.
I've reasons to go and to go back, 'n' I wish as all men with no acclaimed right. Now look at my people in this queue, there are some good ones, there are some thieves. I think of some people we'll meet there: some policemen, bad guy or gangs. You're in your civilized western country splitting the pie. Who will go back? Who will stay there? They're in my old and bittersweet dusty country, waiting for money I'll take when I'm back. Money for work. That's what I ask. Why all these people make business between? So give me a reason, tell me a story, make me believe this could be right this night. |
7. Pour Out My Fury
This is the day I told what I'm feeling. This is the day - I swore - I won't be silent, anymore.
You've a right to live, you've a right to stay: don't let your pain makes you fly away. It's not your fault: let it come out, feel it inside and put it outside. You're taking it all inside, you're killing you inside all of the anger, all memories. Now take your time, give it a sense, name it, see it, kill it, but don't keep on living with it. Because this is the dynamic: that's the way pain grows with you. Don't keep on living with it, please don't keep on living with it. And now, think about yourself, take care of yourself, cure your wound, heal it and begin another time, another time. All those words wasted, --- Come on! Let it get out!, |
all those times passed with no love --- Come on, let it get out!
Pour out my fury! Pour out my old anger! Remember: someone hurt you. So why do you smile? Why are you so gentle? Something inside of you is calling its revenge, don't be afraid, don't be afraid: it's natural, human. Hate him, say it and then live another time, another time. But now I've the courage, now I've the strength I didn't have, now I'm here staring right at you. So what are you thinking now I'm in front of you? So what do you say now, I'm leaving you? So can I do for you now, that I'm stronger? I can't forgive you but I can forget... and I'll do it! Pour out my fury, pour out my old anger, pour out my fury, pour out my beautiful pain. |
8. This Is Your Time
Black oil sea, chemical sun, black oiled birds, dead-eye all fishes.
Transgenic beans and starships' guns, glue sniffer killer and killed babies. This is a time no one can play with, no one can see what game it is, but no one can call him from the field. This is a time no one could see behind. So religious guides and politicians are talking loud. This is your time and that's their old trick, now you can clearly see it. Your life has worth but you are alone here and they are well prepared for what they can sell pre-built solutions: a good way for oblivion. Mortal diseases in Africa, sexual slaves in Indonesia. More than a half of America lives with two bucks every day that we live here. This is a time no one can say what could happen to him. So who could say what is better for you or you'd have to be? |
This is a time no one could say "I know..." . No one could say what's better for you or better for me.
This is your time, live what you mean now. Don't be a fool as the others: your life has worth but you are alone there. So get organized yourself: fight for your right, get informed now, how can you trust their ideas? Electronic devices to make sex, people don't speak, don’t want to express themselves to others and to themselves. So the media speaks and no one can answer. This is your time and that's their old trick, now you can clearly see it… This is your time, live what you mean now. Don't be a fool as the others: your life has worth but you are alone there. So get organized yourself: fight for your right, get informed now, how can you trust their ideas? |
9. Something's Changing
After a period of some interests from english (and some italian) recording companies, nothing happens: we were distant a lot from London but we were too much far from (the cultural habits used at that time in) Rome.
